Barry Gulley is an experienced golf instructor and coach with more than two decades of expertise in player development, swing instruction, and competitive performance. His instructional approach blends sound swing mechanics, modern launch monitor technology, and course-management strategy with a strong emphasis on the mental game and long-term skill development.
Barry has worked extensively with players of all skill levels—from beginners, juniors and collegiate athletes to playing professionals—helping them build repeatable, efficient swings and develop confidence under competitive conditions. His background as a collegiate head coach has uniquely shaped his instructional philosophy, allowing him to assess players holistically and create individualized improvement plans that address technique, practice structure, physical readiness, and mental preparation.
Professionally, Barry has served in a variety of instructional and leadership roles, including Senior Golf Professional and Lead Instructor, Assistant Director of Golf, as well as swing instructor at some of the most elite clubs and facilities in the Indianapolis area. He has also worked as a club fitter and representative for Callaway, Ping, and Mizuno, providing him with deep knowledge of equipment optimization and its role in player performance. He is currently on the Professional Staff of Northwestern Golf and Roark putters, both local companies.
Barry holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Anderson University, which informs his ability to coach focus, resilience, and decision-making on the course. His instructional philosophy centers on clarity, accountability, and measurable improvement, helping players develop skills that translate consistently from the practice tee to the golf course.
